Biography
The US producer Medasin was born Grant Nelson on 29 May 1997 and grew up in Dallas, Texas. As a genre-agnostic talent with a penchant for hip-hop, he began cooking up beats and posting his wares to MySpace aged just 12 years old. By 16, he had already made a name for himself on the electronic and hip-hop scenes through his remixes of artists such as Post Malone and later Rihanna/DJ Khaled ("Wild Thoughts"). In 2016, he teamed up with Masego for The Pink Polo EP before turning his attention to his debut full-length, Irene (2018). He has since logged another three albums: 2020's RIPPLS, 2023's Always in a Hurry and 2024's sounds, which spawned a popular track in "Magic.
