McMaster & James is a Canadian pop duo from Winnipeg established in 1997. The group consists of Luke McMaster and Rob James who met through the producer Chris Burke-Gaffney. Their recording career began with the debut eponymous studio recording McMaster & James (2000) which yielded the hit songs "Love Wins Everytime", "Thank You", "I Understand", and "Sweet Sensation". They performed as the opening act for NSYNC and Christina Aguilera on their tours in Canada. In 2000, McMaster & James won the Entertainer of the Year award at the Prairie Music Awards. Their song "Thank You" was recognized by SOCAN as one of the most performed Canadian pop songs on radio in 2001. The ensemble became inactive in 2002 but resumed activity for a performance in 2019 where they announced plans for a tour. They reunited again for a performance in November 2023.
