Born Emekwanem Ogugua Biosah Jr. in Houston, Texas on March 29, 1990, the rapper and songwriter is better known by his stage name Maxo Kream. His music career began when he helped form hip-hop crew Kream Clicc while still in high school. The Kream Clicc released their first mixtape in 2011, making them one of the most talked-about unsigned groups in Houston. Maxo Kream stepped out for his first solo mixtape, Retro Card, in 2012, and gained national attention for his remix of Kendrick Lamarâs âRigamortusâ through social media platforms. He began to build a large fanbase with further mixtapes Quicc Strikes (2013), #Maxo187 (2015), and The Persona Tape (2016). Maxo Kream released Punken, his debut album, in 2018. He signed with Roc Nation and released the album Brandon Banks (2019), which rose to number 68 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. In 2021, Maxo Kream returned with the single âBig Personaâ featuring Tyler the Creator, followed by the album Weight of the World later that year, featuring A$AP Rocky, Monaleo, Don Toliver, and Freddie Gibbs. In November 2024, he released his fourth album Personification, featuring his younger brother Josh Kream, Tyler, the Creator, BigXthaPlug, Z-Ro, That Mexican OT, Denzel Curry, Rob49 and Skilla Baby. He followed up with O.Y.N, released in June 2026 and including collaborations from Denzel Curry and JPEGMAFIA on "Fake Jeezy", Isahiah Falls, Cartel Bo and Josh Kream.
