Biography
Joaquim Sunyer, known professionally as Max Sunyer or Max Suñé, is a Spanish rock and jazz guitar player born in 1947 in Pobla de Masaluca, Spain. He began studying solfège and violin at age seven and later developed an interest in the electric guitar. By 1964, Sunyer started performing with dance music ensembles. His early career included stints in rock groups such as Vértice (1968-1970), contributing to the single featuring "Take Me Away" and "You're Not Real". He played with Tapiman, releasing the LP Tapiman (1972). Following this, Sunyer joined Kroners, which evolved into Iceberg in 1974. He released his debut solo album Babel in 1979. Sunyer formed the group Pegasus in 1982, which received the Gran Premio del Disco de la Generalidad de Cataluña in 1985. Throughout the 1980s and beyond, he released solo albums including Trio (1981), Ficcions (1984), Silencis (1988), and Arroz con costra (1995). Sunyer founded the group Guitarras Mestizas in 1999, releasing the album Guitarras mestizas.
