Biography

Matthias "Matze" Knop, known professionally as Supa Richie, was born on November 11, 1974, in Lippstadt, Germany. He began his media career with a training program to become a radio editor at Radio Bielefeld and completed a journalism study at the University of Dortmund. His breakthrough came through his comedy figure "Supa Richie," which gained popularity in local radio stations and later on television. Knop's music career took off in the late 1990s when he released several comedy singles that made it to the German charts, including "Supa Supa Richie" and others. His first album, Sonst hol isch meinä Brüda!, was released in 1997, followed For you! in 1998. In 1998, he was nominated for the German music award Echo in the Comedy category. During this period, he also worked as a voice actor, lending his voice to Adam Sandler’s character in The Waterboy. His subsequent album releases include I'm Cheap! (2003) and notable singles like "The Klinsmann Song" (2006), "Cup is Gone" (2010), and "Win the Trophy" (2016), returning in 2024 with "We Say Thank You".
