Matthew Marsden, born on March 3, 1973, in West Bromwich, England, is a British-American actor, producer, singer and former model. He began his career as a model in London, Paris, and Milan before transitioning into acting. His breakthrough in music came in 1998 when he signed a £500,000 record deal with Columbia Records. Matthew Marsden released his debut single "The Heart's Lone Desire", which reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart. He followed this with a cover of Hall & Oates' "She's Gone", featuring backing vocals from Destiny's Child, which peaked at number 24. His only album Say Who was released in the same year. Matthew Marsden returned to acting shortly after his music career, appearing in notable films such as Black Hawk Down, Helen of Troy, and Resident Evil: Extinction. He also starred in Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, Tamara, DOA: Dead or Alive and Rambo. Matthew Marsden's acting career included a stint on the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, where he played Daniel Weir, and a role as mechanic Chris Collins on Coronation Street, for which he won the 1997 National Television Award for Most Popular Newcomer.
