Biography
Born in Golconda, Illinois on November 16, 2006, Mason Ramsey is a country music singer who came to prominence at the age of 11 when a clip of him yodeling a version of Hank Williamsâ âLovesick Bluesâ went viral on social media. The video, which was filmed inside a Walmart in 2018, was viewed over 20 million times in a few days and he became an instant internet sensation. The internet buzz caught the interest of Atlantic Records, who swooped in and signed Mason Ramsey to their Nashville, Tennessee-based label Big Loud. His first single, âFamous,â hit Number 4 on the Billboard Country Singles chart and even made the Hot 100, landing at Number 62. His debut EP â also titled Famous â was issued in July 2018 and featured the title track as well as a studio version of âLovesick Blues.â In 2019, Mason Ramsey voiced the character of Oliver in the motion picture The Angry Birds Movie 2, which was released one month after he issued his second EP, Twang. That same year, he appeared on Lil Nas Xâs Number 1 single âOld Town Road,â which also featured Young Thug and Billy Ray Cyrus. In 2022, Mason Ramsey released the single "Before I Knew It," which hit Number 100 on the Irish charts.
