Waymond Anderson, known professionally as Suavé, was born on February 22, 1966, in Los Angeles. He began his career as an R&B singer after being discovered at a New Edition concert in California during the mid-1980s and decided to pursue a music career. In 1988, he achieved chart success with his cover of The Temptations' "My Girl", which peaked at Number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number 3 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. This was followed by the release of his debut album, I'm Your Playmate, in 1988. The album also featured the single "Shake Your Body", which reached Number 22 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. In 1991, Anderson released his second and final album, To The Maxx. However, his musical career was overshadowed by legal troubles. On January 29, 1994, he was arrested and charged with fatal arson related to a fire near the University of Southern California in September 1993. After a trial in 1997, Anderson was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life without parole. In 2007, Anderson perjured himself in court by recanting an implication of police officer involvement in the death of The Notorious B.I.G. Suavé remains incarcerated.
