Hybrid, a Welsh electronic music duo consisting of Mike and Charlotte Truman, was formed in 1995 by Mike Truman, Chris Healings, and Lee Mullin. The group gained initial recognition as a breakbeat collective with overlaps into progressive house and trance. Their breakthrough came in 1996 with the release of their first single "Fall Out Of Love". In 1999 they released their debut album Wide Angle, which featured the charting singles "Finished Symphony" and "If I Survive". The album was produced with the Russian Federal Orchestra for string sections and vocals from Julee Cruise. Hybrid supported Moby on a live tour later that year. In 2003, after Mullin's departure, Adam Taylor joined, and they released Morning Sci-Fi, which included collaborations with Peter Hook and Kirsty Hawkshaw. The album featured the singles "True to Form", "Higher Than a Skyscraper" and "I'm Still Awake". In 2006, Charlotte Truman (née James) joined as a vocalist, and they released I Choose Noise. This period also marked their foray into film music, collaborating with Harry Gregson-Williams on soundtracks for films like Man on Fire and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Hybrid continued to release albums, including Disappear Here, Can You Hear Me, and Light of the Fearless in 2018.
