Biography
Kordhell is the stage name of British-born American musician and producer Michael "Mick" Kenney, born on January 18, 1980, in Birmingham, England. While he made a name for himself as the guitarist of the extreme metal band Anaal Nathrakh, which released a total of 11 studio albums since its inception in 1998, his Kordhell alter ego focuses mostly on the hip-hop subgenres of Memphis rap and phonk. He debuted the Kordhell moniker in 2021, releasing the albums Beat Tape 1 and Beat Tape 2, as well as a 3-track EP titled Phonkageddon. However, it was his 2022 single "Murder in My Mind" that truly established him as one of the most popular phonk artists in the planet, entering the charts in several European countries and landing at Number 98 on the Canadian Hot 100. This success was followed by a collaboration with Memphis rap legend DJ Paul (of Three 6 Mafia fame) on the single "Go Hard or Get Gone" and by the Scarlxrd joint LP PSYCHX later that year. In 2023, Kordhell issued the album Sped Up, Vol. 1, which featured sped-up versions of his earlier singles.
