Martin Ramon Razon Nievera, born February 5 1962 in Manila, Philippines, is a Filipino singer whose career began in the early 1980s after returning to the Philippines following several years in the United States. After early vocal training with his father, he formally entered the Philippine music industry in the early 1980s. Nieveraâs first recording, Martin⦠Take One (1983), achieved platinum status within five months and launched his presence in the Philippine music scene. He followed with The Best Gift (1984) and the eponymous Martin (1985), establishing a steady stream of releases such as Forever (1998), Forever, Forever (1999), and Return to Forever (1999). Throughout the 2000s, he issued albums Chasing Time (2002), Unforgettable (2004), and When Love Is Gone (2005), while collaborating with artists like Gary Valenciano on As 1 (2009). Nieveraâs performance career extended to concerts in major venues, including the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl, and he hosted shows such as ASAP (since 1995).
