Eija-Hélène Ahvo Saartamo, known professionally as Eija Ahvo, was born on January 31, 1951, in Juankoski, Finland, and is a Finnish actress, voice actress, and singer. She began her career by studying theatre at the Finnish Theatre Academy from 1973 to 1977. Her music career includes notable albums such as Lasimaalaus (1990) and Maalaistyttö (2000). She has also worked extensively in film and television, with notable roles including Wendla in Kevään herääminen (1977) and Hiiriäit in Pessi ja Illusia (1984), for which she won the Jussi Award for Best Supporting Actress. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Ahvo has been an ambassador of goodwill for UNICEF since 1986 and received the Pro Finlandia medal in 2018.
