Biography

Marisa Liz is a Portuguese singer-songwriter, better known as the lead singer of the pop rock band Amor Electro. Born Marisa Pinto in Lisbon on October 22, 1987, she began her career as a child singer on the groups Popeline and Onda Choc, after which she starred in the Portuguese version of the Disney series Kim Possible. In 2004, she became the lead vocalist of the electronic fado group Donna Maria, which she left in 2009. Only a year later, Marisa Liz featured on Julio Pereira's track "Debaixo da Língua," included in the singer's 2010 album, Graffiti. Following her participation in the soundtrack of the Portuguese adaptation of the Italian animated film Winx Club 3D: Magica Avventura (2011), her new band Amor Electro's platinum-selling studio debut Cai o Carmo e a Trindade reached the top of the charts in Portugal. Since 2014, Marisa Liz has also been involved with the reality singing program The Voice Portugal, eventually becoming the show's winning coach in 2017 through her mentee, Tomás Adrião. After forming the music duo Elas with Aurea in 2019, Marisa Liz made her official solo debut with the single "Guerra Nuclear," which peaked at Number 166 on the Portuguese Singles Chart.
