Marina Gennadievna Verenikina, known as Marina V, was born in 1982, in Moscow, Russian Federation. She began writing songs at four and attended classical music school from 6 to 14. After winning a national competition at 15, she moved to Springfield, Illinois. Marina V's musical career started with her debut CD Let Me Dream in 2001. In 2005, she collaborated with Jack Douglas on tracks for her album Simple Magic. Her live album, Live at Soundmoves, was released in September 2006. In January 2011, she released My Star, produced by Guy Erez and featuring guitarist Bruce Kulick of KISS on "Killing My Dream." She also wrote lyrics for children's songs on the Kote Kitty YouTube channels, which have garnered over one billion views.
