Biography

Mariko Murai (born February 5, 1965 in Tokyo) is a talented Japanese singer who was active in the late 1980s and early 1990s. She made her debut with the single "ZA ZA ZA" in May 1988 after graduating from Women's Art Junior College. She attracted attention for her urban city pop sensibility and sophisticated singing ability, and on January 21, 1989, she released her third single , "Dourenai Koi (Love Affair)," which became one of her best-known songs. This song was used as the theme song for the drama "Kimi no Hitomi ni Koishiteru! and it catapulted her to national prominence. In the 1990s, she moved to Alpha Records and released the albums "ísm" and"ma-gen-ta. He continued to release albums until around 1993, delivering high quality pop music to the world.
