Marie Wegener, born 6 July 2001 in Duisburg, Germany, is a German pop singer whose career began with participation in The Voice Kids in 2013, where she reached the battle round. Her first single, "Christmas Morning", was released that year, followed by the single "Ich wohne in deinem Herzen" in 2017. In May 2018, Wegener won the 15th season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, securing a record deal and â¬100,000; her winnerâs single, "Königlich", written by Dieter Bohlen, entered the German charts at number 7 in June 2018. The same month, her debut studio album Königlich was issued, and she received a smago! Award for âJüngste DSDS-Gewinnerin aller Zeiten.â In 2019, she released her second album Countdown, which peaked at number 20, and performed as a support act on Andreas Gabalierâs stadium tour. From December 2019 to early 2020, Wegener starred as Bella in the German production of Die Schöne und das Biest. Since 2022, she has performed the national anthem for the Rhein Fire in the European League of Football. In late 2023, she announced a new chapter, adopting the stage name Mary Lane and later Marie Lane, and released the singles "Home" in 2023 and "Basic Love" in 2024.
