Biography

Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS) is a German casting show first broadcast by RTL on November 9, 2002. The show has produced numerous successful artists, including Alexander Klaws, who reached number one in the German charts in 2003 with the single "Take Me Tonight". Other winners such as Mark Medlock, who also climbed to the top of the charts in 2007 with "Now or Never", and Pietro Lombardi, who reached number 1 in 2011 with "Call My Name", have shaped the German music landscape. DSDS releases several compilation albums, including United (2003), Magic of Music (2004) and Love Songs (2006), which contain successful singles such as "We Have a Dream". The show receives various awards and remains an important springboard for aspiring musicians in Germany.
