Biography

Marcelo Rubio is a Venezuelan singer-songwriter whose emotive pop began surfacing on streaming platforms in 2023 with early singles such as “Si el amor es temporal,” “Conversación con mi ex,” and “El día que vuelvas,” establishing a diaristic writing style anchored in melody and heartbreak. Momentum built through 2024 with stand-alone tracks including “Pídeme a las 11:11,” “Besos desechables,” and the duet “X si acaso quieres regresar” with Mariangela, the latter co-written with hitmaker Andy Clay. That September he issued his debut album Lo que escribí mientras no estabas :) on Sony Music Latin, a 12-song cycle presented as monthly “pages” that map a breakup’s arc; among its collaborations are “Vas a volver?” with Puerto Rican singer ROBI and “Puede que esto no mejore :/” with fellow Venezuelan NOREH, each accompanied by official videos. In 2025, Marcelo Rubio pivoted to a more widescreen pop sound with a run of singles led by “Líneas temporales,” a collaboration with Gus and Mazzarri that reached number 24 on the Latin Pop Airplay chart, followed by “Si no la vuelvo a ver” and “2 versos,” further consolidating his presence on Latin pop playlists.
