Josearmen is the stage name of Argentine singer-songwriter Josefina Armendariz, born on November 18, 1997, in Buenos Aires, who began performing in 2016 in the band Arrecife as a vocalist and keyboardist, recording an album with the group before striking out on her own. She launched her solo project in 2019 while based in Barcelona, releasing her first digital singles and playing streets, bars, theaters, and festivals across Spain with local musicians, gradually shaping the intimate pop sound that defined her work. On December 17, 2021, Josearmen issued her debut EP Más que Ayer, a five-track release featuring âHace falta elegir,â âPuro Love,â âMás que ayer,â âEnero,â and âAlma (Vivo en departamento),â which she supported with a visual album and the official video for âHace falta elegir.â In 2022, she expanded her profile with the single âCada cuánto pasa el tren?â and a collaboration with Spanish band Ciao Marina on âTodo lo que pido,â later joining them as lead vocalist for the single âLa capital.â Josearmen continued to release standalone tracks through 2023 and 2024, including âHumedad,â âcon amor,â âtáctica,â âMi amor,â âAl lado tuyo,â and the reworked studio session project enero en invierno (desde el taller), which yielded new versions of âEneroâ and âHace falta elegir.â In 2025, she remained active on the Latin indie-pop circuit with collaborations such as âPrimaveras (entre amigos)â with Paula Prieto and appearances on projects like âLo que elegiste (epic extended version),â confirming Josearmen as a distinctive voice in contemporary Argentine pop songwriting.
