Biography

Son of actor Gérard Lanvin - and occasional singer - Manu Lanvin has made a name for himself in French blues. Born Emmanuel Lanvin in Paris on November 24, 1974, he became an electric guitar enthusiast at the age of 15, playing in the amateur band 3D, before touring with the group Trust in the 1990s. Surrounded by musicians and artists such as Albin de la Simone and Matthieu Rabaté, he recorded his first album Venir au Monde (2000), followed four years later by Les Temps Mauvais, with the participation of Manu, singer of the group Dolly, on the duet "Tout ou presque". On subsequent albums, Manu Lanvin continues to pursue an energetic, rootsy blues-rock sound. After Faible Humain (2007), he formed the group Manu Lanvin and the Devil Blues for Mauvais Casting (2012), Son(s) of the Blues (2014) and Blues, Booze & Rock'n'Roll (2016). Holder of a Crystal Globe, he produced the album Grand Casino (2019) under his own name, with contributions from Paul Personne, Beverly Jo Scott, Taj Mahal and Popa Chubby. He produces his father's album Ici Bas (2021), before returning to the stage to record Man on a Mission (2025).
