Biography
Jean-Jacques Milteau is the French harmonica player par excellence. Born in Paris in 1950, he developed a passion for the instrument that brought him fame as a child, when he discovered Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones, and then went back to the roots of the blues. His collaborations with numerous artists in all styles, from variety to jazz, blues and rock, are countless. He released his first solo album in 1989(Blues Harp), then joined the Enfoirés troupe. His albums Explorer (1991) and Memphis (2001) won him two Victoire de la Musique awards. His rich career has seen him play with Little Milton, Mighty Mo' Rodgers, Mighty Sam McClain, Gil Scott-Heron, Terry Callier, Manu Galvin, Demi Evans and Eric Bibb. Named Officier des Arts et des Lettres in 2014, he has always remained true to his first love for the blues.
