Biography

Manos de Topo, a Spanish indie pop band from Barcelona, was formed in 2003 by Miguel Ángel Blanca and Alejandro Marzoa. The group initially gained attention for their parodic take on romantic songs, featuring ironic lyrics about failures and a deliberately off-key vocal style. Their first album, Ortopedias Bonitas, released in 2007 under the label Sones, received critical acclaim and was later ranked as one of the best Spanish albums of the decade by Rockdelux. Some of the band's subsequent releases included El primero era mejor (2009) and Escapar con el anticiclón (y volver con la boca roja) (2011). Manos de Topo also toured extensively, including multiple visits to Mexico for performances at festivals like Vive Latino in 2012. After a hiatus, they returned with the self-produced album Caminitos del deseo in 2014 and embarked on a farewell tour in 2016.
