Biography
Major Parkinson, a Norwegian rock band from Bergen, formed in 2003 with Jon Ivar Kollbotn, Eivind Gammersvik, André Lund, and Jan Are Rønhovde. The group won the Eggstock festival and Zoom local band competition finals the same year. In 2006, they recorded their debut album at Radio Star Studios with producer Sylvia Massy. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2008, receiving positive reviews in Norwegian media. The band's second album, Songs from a Solitary Home, followed in September 2010, leading to an extensive tour. Their third album, Twilight Cinema, was released in early 2014 after fan funding. Subsequent releases include albums Blackbox (2017), Valesa Chapter 1: Velvet Prison (2022), and Valesa Chapter II: Viva the Apocalypse! (2026).
