Biography

Welsh actor Luke Evans was born in Pontypool on 15 April 1979 and began his career on stage on London's West End before setting his sights on the silver screen, where he excelled thanks to career-shaping roles in notable Hollywood productions such as the remake of Clash of the Titans – playing the Greek god Apollo – and Robin Hood in 2010. He also appeared as Clive in the Ian Dury biopic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll that same year, while continuing his Hollywood ascent with roles in The Three Musketeers and The Immortals. Having discovered his love of music from a young age, later taking singing lessons, he would eventually release his debut solo album, At Last, in 2019, which he took to number 11 in the UK largely thanks to tracks “Love is a Battlefield” or “Changing”. The follow-up album arrived three years later, A Song for You, which he took all the way to number four in the UK, propelled by duets like "Come What May” with Charlotte Church and “Say Something” with Nicole Kidman.
