Louie Austen, born Alois Luef on September 19, 1946, in Vienna, Austria, is a pianist, accordionist, guitarist, and jazz singer. He began playing the accordion at eight and later studied vocal and acting at Konservatorium Wien, graduating in 1974. His music career started with performances in South Africa, Australia, New York, and Las Vegas before returning to Austria in 1980. Louie Austen's breakthrough came with Consequences (1999), produced by Mario Neugebauer on Cheap Records. He released several albums including Only Tonight, and Iguana. His work often blended jazz with electronic music, resulting in notable collaborations with artists like Señor Coconut and Parov Stelar. In 2007, Louie Austen founded LA MUSIC, his own label, which released EPs such as Summer Love and MyAmy/Flying Away.
