Lisa Stewart is an American country music and jazz artist born on August 6, 1968, in Louisville, Mississippi. She moved to Nashville in 1987, winning the Roy Acuff scholarship at Belmont University and working as a studio singer. In 1991, Stewart signed with BNA Records and released her self-titled debut album, Lisa Stewart, in January 1993. The album produced the Billboard Hot Country Songs singles âSomebodyâs in Loveâ and âDrive Timeâ. Beyond her recording career, Stewart achieved recognition as a television host for the entertainment news show #1 Country and the program This Week in Country Music. In 1994, she recorded the album Solitary Heart, though it remained unreleased. She later transitioned into acting under the name Lisa Stewart Seals, appearing in several films. Stewart currently performs as a jazz artist with her own combo, which has featured drummer Chester Thompson.
