Biography

British big beat group, Lionrock, formed in 1992. The band began their musical journey with the release of their debut single "Lionrock" in 1992. In 1993, Lionrock signed to Deconstruction Records, which helped propel their career forward. Their initial steps included releasing several singles such as "Tripwire" (1994) and "Fire Up the Shoeshaw" (1996). In 1996, Lionrock released their debut full-length album An Instinct for Detection, which reached number 30 in the UK. The band's lineup included record producer Justin Robertson, MC Buzz B, and producer Roger Lyons, who replaced Mark Stagg in 1995. Their song "Rude Boy Rock" from the 1998 album City Delirious reached the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart and was featured in the video game FIFA '99and the soundtrack to the 1999 film Idle Hands. This song samples "Nimrod" (1965) by Jamaican reggae band The Skatalites. The group also contributed to the soundtrack of the 1999 film Go with their song "Fire Up the Shoeshaw".
