Atsuko Yamamoto, known professionally as Linda Yamamoto, was born on March 4, 1951, in Kitakyushu, Japan. She began her career as a model at age 11 and transitioned into singing at 15 with the release of her debut single "Komacchauna" in 1966. Yamamoto's early success continued with several singles released throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, including "Koi no Bang Bang" (1969) and "Shiroi Machi ni Hana ga" (1971). Her music career spanned over five decades, during which she released more than fifty singles and a dozen original albums, including Me in the mirror (1986) and Chaos (2001). Yamamoto also ventured into acting, appearing in several television series between 1967 and 1993, notably playing the role of Mari in the original Kamen Rider series in 1971. She made a brief appearance as a model in the film Hana to Kajitsu (1967) and provided voice work for the animated film Jack to Mame no Ki (1974). Yamamoto's contributions to Japanese pop music solidified her status as a cultural icon, particularly during the Middle of the Road (MOR) and Pop music eras.
