Biography

Linda Gail Lewis is an American singer, songwriter, and pianist who was born in Ferriday, Louisiana, United States, in 1947. She achieved early professional recognition in 1963 with the single “Teenage Letter” and is famous for her collaborations with her brother Jerry Lee Lewis and the musician Van Morrison. Her discography includes her debut studio recording The Two Sides of Linda Gail Lewis (1969) and the collaborative album Together (1969), which reached number 8 on the US Country charts. She also released the single “Roll Over Beethoven” (1969), which reached number 12 on the Canadian Country charts, and “Smile Somebody Loves You” (1972), which reached number 39 on the US Country charts. Lewis’s later work includes the collaborative studio recordings You Win Again (2000) with Van Morrison and Wild! Wild! Wild! (2018) with Robbie Fulks. Since 2019, she has been signed with Cleopatra Records and has performed with her daughters in the ensemble The Lewis 3.
