Lillian Axe, an American hard rock band from New Orleans, Louisiana, was formed in 1983. Initially known as Oz, the band changed its name to Lillian Axe after guitarist Steve Blaze was inspired by a scene in the movie Creepshow. The band signed with MCA Records and released their debut album, Lillian Axe, in 1988, followed by Love + War in 1989. Despite these releases, the band did not meet commercial expectations and was dropped by MCA. In 1992, the band released Poetic Justice under Grand Slamm/I.R.S. Records, which peaked at number 28 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers. The album featured the single "True Believer". The band disbanded in 1995 but reunited in 1999 with the release of Fields of Yesterday. In 2014, they released an acoustic live album titled One Night in the Temple. In February 2025, Lillian Axe entered the recording studio to begin recording their eleventh studio album titled The 10 Commandments.
