She began her career in the 1960s at age 13, releasing her first single "We gotta stop" in Dutch. Saint-Pierre's early success led to collaborations with French singer and producer Claude François, who added "Saint-Pierre" to her stage name for a more French sound. In 1987, Saint-Pierre represented Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest with "Soldiers of Love", finishing eleventh place with fifty-six points. Throughout her career, she has released numerous socially-engaged songs and made a successful comeback in 1996 with a fresh dance sound.
