Tamar Kaprelian, born Tamar Mardirossian on October 28, 1986, in Scottsdale, Arizona, is an American-Armenian singer-songwriter. She began her career in 2008 after winning a cover contest organized by OneRepublic with her performance of "Apologize". This win led to her signing with Interscope Records through the assistance of Ryan Tedder. Kaprelian released her debut single "New Day" in 2009, which peaked at number 37 on the Adult Top 40 chart. Her debut studio album Sinner or a Saint followed in 2010. In 2015, she was part of the group Genealogy, representing Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest with "Face the Shadow", placing 16th. Kaprelian later attempted to represent Armenia solo in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 but was eliminated in the semi-final. She co-wrote Rosa Linn's song "Snap" which represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, finishing 20th place.
