Toby Lightman, born in 1978 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is an American musician known for her work as a singer. She began playing the violin at age six and later discovered her vocal talents during high school. After graduating, she moved to New York City where she worked as a barmaid while pursuing music. Her first demo was recorded at Wyclef Jean's studio Booga Basement, leading to her signing with Lava Records in 2004. Toby Lightman released her debut album Little Things on June 29, 2004, which included the single "Devils and Angels". Her second album, Bird On A Wire, was released on July 25, 2006, featuring the track "Holding Me Down". Throughout her career, Toby Lightman has collaborated with notable artists such as OAR, Rob Thomas, Jewel, Gavin DeGraw, Train and Prince.
