Biography
Leonhard Huhn, born on June 15, 1986, in Berlin, Germany, is a saxophonist, composer, and clarinet player known for his work in jazz and improvisational music. He began playing the saxophone at age 13 and was a member of the Berlin State Youth Jazz Orchestra. From 2006 to 2011, Huhn studied at the Cologne University of Music. His career breakthrough came with the release of Duke Ellington's Far East Suite in 2011, a collaborative album with bassist Sebastian Gramss. Throughout his career, Huhn has been involved in various ensembles and projects, including Schmidâs Huhn, Die Fichten, and Car, which explored experimental jazz and electronic music. He has collaborated with notable musicians such as Fabian Jung, Elisabeth Coudoux, and Philip Zoubek. In 2014, his trio Die Fichten won the first prize at the Avignon Jazz Festival.
