Biography
Karen Lynn Greening, known professionally as Lee Aaron, was born on July 21, 1962, in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. She joined the heavy metal band Lee Aaron at age 15, initially as a background singer and keyboardist before becoming the lead vocalist. The band's debut album, The Lee Aaron Project, was released in 1982, after which Aaron was invited to appear at the Reading Festival. In 1984, she released her second album, Metal Queen. Notable tracks from this period include "We Will Be Rockin'" and "Shake It Up". Between 1984 and 1992, Aaron toured extensively through Europe and made appearances in Japan and the United States. Aaron also won three Toronto Music Awards for Best Female Vocalist and received sixteen Juno Award nominations, though she did not win. In 2016, she was inducted into the Brampton Arts Walk of Fame.
