Biography
Félix Lajkó, born 17 December 1974 in BaÄka Topola is a Hungarian-Serbian violinist, zither player, and composer. Born to ethnic Hungarian parents, he began playing the zither at age 10 and the violin at age 12. After moving to Budapest at age 16, he established a reputation performing with the Dresch Quartet. Lajkóâs recording career began in 1995 with the album Lajkó Félix és bandája. His discography includes the solo releases Félix (2002), Lajkó Félix 7 (2005), and Remény (2007). He gained recognition for collaborations with Noir Désir and the Boban MarkoviÄ Orkestar. In 2008, he starred as the lead actor and composed the score for the film Delta, winning the award for best original soundtrack at the Hungarian Film Festival. His zither-led album MezÅ (2013) reached Number 1 on the World Music Charts Europe. In 2016, Lajkó received the Liszt Ferenc Prize.
