Biography
Lachi is an American musician, record producer, author, and disability culture advocate born in Maryland to Nigerian immigrant parents. She is legally blind due to Coloboma and grew up in various locations including upstate New York, West Philadelphia, and North Carolina. Her music was often described as dance or pop music. She was signed by Fanatic Records/EMI after being spotted at an unofficial South by Southwest showcase and released her self-titled debut album Lachi on July 27, 2010, which included the single "We Can Fly". Notable collaborations include working with Zafrir Ifrach on the track "Dalale" and Markus Schulz on "Far", featured on his album We are the Light. Lachi has also been recognized for her advocacy work, including being named in the Billboard Pride List in 2025.
