Biography

Laurell was born in Vancouver on April 20, 1979. As a lyrically confident poet, she earned her merits first and foremost as a songwriter and composer for various Eurovision Song Contest entries. After her first tracks for the British artists Holly Brewer ("I Wish I Loved You More") and Olivia Garcia ("Freedom Hearts") in 2017, which at least reached the preliminary rounds of the internationally coveted music competition, the song "Stones" (2018) for the Swiss indie band ZiBBZ is the first song from Laurell's pen to take part in the final round. The Swedish-based artist also received a Juno Award in the Best Dance Recording of the Year category in 2018 for her contribution to the Nick Fioricci track "Closer" . in 2019, she achieved what no other woman had done before: Laurell managed to sneak three songs into the final round of the Eurovision Song Contest - including "You Got Me" by Swiss singer Luca Hänni, which reached 4th place in the end. Barker also established herself as a solo artist in 2021. With her debut single "Habit" , the Canadian positions herself as a talented dance-pop interpreter.
