Biography
Elsa Rovayo, known professionally as La Shica, was born on January 12, 1976, in Ceuta, Spain. She is a pop singer with training in flamenco, Spanish dance, and classical ballet. At age 15, she moved to Madrid to study at the Amor de Dios school. She began her career as a flamenco dancer, touring various tablaos across Spain and Paris. In 2004, she adopted the stage name La Shica and transitioned to singing, debuting at La Lupe de Chueca in Madrid. Her first album, Trabajito de chinos, was released in 2008 under DRO Records, featuring the notable song "ZÃngara rapera". In 2010, she released Supercop, produced by Javier Limón, which earned her two Premios de la Música awards in 2011 for Artista Revelación and Autor Revelación. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with various artists including Martirio, Bebe, and Jorge Drexler.
