Kyle Shepherd, born on July 8, 1987, in Cape Town, South Africa, is a jazz pianist, film, and theater music composer. He released his debut album, fineArt, in 2009. His work includes scoring for Netflix series like Unseen, Blood and Water, and Savage Beauty. His film credits include Fiela se Kind (2019), Barakat (2020), and Indemnity (2021). He has performed in 32 countries, including venues like Carnegie Hall. In 2014, he received the Standard Bank Young Artist of the Year for Jazz award, and in 2015, he won the UNISA piano competition. His achievements include multiple Silwerskerm Film Festival awards and a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Waiting for the Sibyl, a chamber opera created with William Kentridge and Nhlanhla Mhlangu.
