Kwela Tebza is a South African Kwela musical group consisting of three brothers, Mpho, Tebogo, and Tshepo Lerole. The trio began performing in 1996, combining elements from Sophiatown and South African Jazz with contemporary beats and modern production techniques. Their debut album Kwela Tebza was released that same year. Kwela Tebza's subsequent albums include 6 Faces of Dr. Kwela (2000), King Kwela (2007), and Made in South Africa (2009). The group has collaborated with notable artists such as The Parlotones, Mahotela Queens, Zolani Mahola of Freshlyground, and Femi Kuti. They have also been involved in philanthropic efforts, including a reality television series Dream Builders aimed at building homes for disadvantaged families. Kwela Tebza's contributions to music earned them several awards, including Best Adult Contemporary Album at the 2007 South African Music Awards and Best Collaboration and Best Single at the METRO FM Music Awards in 2009.
