Biography

Kojiro Shimizu (born November 10, 1964 in Tokyo) is a Japanese singer and actor. Scouted during his high school days as a member of the Takenoko Tribe, he made his idol debut in 1981 under the name "Take Koji." In 1984, he resumed his activities under his real name and attracted attention for his high singing ability, winning the Grand Prix at the Tokyo Music Festival Domestic Newcomer Competition with the single "Billy Joel is Not a Good Fit. On November 28, 1986, he released the single "Tonight Only Darling" with lyrics by Takashi Matsumoto and music by Tetsuro Oda. This song, which combines an urban rock sound with a wistful voice, became one of his best-known songs and was included on the album "ALLEY " released later that year. He continued to release numerous hit songs, including "Down Town Alley" and "Love Affair," the theme song for the anime "F." By 1992, he had released 20 singles and 11 albums, and was actively engaged in musical activities, including live performances and dinner shows.
