Biography
Formed in December 2022, KOIAI is a powerhouse Japanese rock band whose name cleverly bridges the traditional Japanese dark blue hue "Koi-ai" with the concept of "Deep Love." Initially founded by world-renowned guitarists Li-sa-X and Hazuki, the group quickly carved out a distinct global identity by blending highly intricate, technical progressive rock musicianship with catchy, pop-oriented melodic sensibilities. Overcoming early lineup shifts, the band solidified an unstoppable foundation by anchoring the rhythm section with drummer Kanade Sato. They then ushered in a brand-new era with the recruitment of dynamic vocalist Mirei Sakurada in late 2025 and bassist Yunika Impact in early 2026. This revitalized five-piece lineup has injected massive energy into KOIAI's signature twin-guitar arrangements. Marking a bold milestone, the group released their highly anticipated fourth EP, Starting Over, on July 15, 2026.
