Hundred Percent Free, a Japanese rock band formed in Nagoya in Julyâ¯2003, consisted of vocalist Tack, vocalist KoâKi, guitarist SIG, drummer KAZ, and later bassist MKâII and programmer BâBURG before their departures in 2009 and 2012 respectively. The group debuted with the selfâproduced single "OFF LIMITED" in Julyâ¯2006, followed by the indie miniâalbum Hundred Percent Free on Augustâ¯20â¯2008 under ZAZZY, achieving the numberâone spot on the iTunes Store Rock chart alongside acts such as Coldplay and Metallica. After signing with Being and the pure:infinity label, the band released the single "Hello Mr. my yesterday" on Januaryâ¯27â¯2010, marking their major debut. Their first fullâlength album, JET!JET!!JET!!!, dropped on Aprilâ¯6â¯2011, and they embarked on nationwide tours including the JAPâPARADE09 live series. In Decemberâ¯2012 the group shortened its name to 100%FREE, and a compilation Hyakunen MonogatariãThe Complete Bestã was issued on Decemberâ¯18â¯2013, coinciding with their disbandment following drummer KAZâs decision to reevaluate his career. The bandâs blend of punk, hipâhop, R&B, and reggae-labeled Hybrid Rock-left a distinct imprint on Japanâs indie rock scene during their tenâyear run.
