Biography

Thomas Harold George Withers, known professionally as Klute, was born on July 31, 1968, and is a drum and bass producer and DJ from Ipswich, UK. He began his music career as a drummer and vocalist for The Stupids before transitioning to electronic production in the early 1990s. Klute's first releases included two 12" singles under the alias 'Override' in 1995 and 1996. Klute released his debut LP, Casual Bodies, on Certificate 18 in 1998. In 2001, he established Commercial Suicide Records, which became a platform for his own material. Notable albums include Lie Cheat & Steal (2003), No One's Listening Anymore (2005), and The Emperor's New Clothes (2007). The track "Time 4 Change" from No One's Listening Anymore was the final song played by John Peel on his BBC Radio 1 show. Klute has also released music on labels such as Hospital Records, Metalheadz, and Shogun Audio.
