Biography
Karl Nicholas Francis, known professionally as Dillinja, is a British electronic music DJ and producer born in England in 1974. He began his career in the jungle and drum and bass scene in 1991, producing tracks under various aliases such as Suburban Knight, Cybotron, Trinity, Capone, Basic Influence, and The Specialist. Dillinja's early releases included EPs like Dillinja EP (1993) and collaborations on singles such as "Sinewave" and "From Beyond/Ride It Hard" under the Cybotron alias. In 2001, Dillinja co-founded Valve Recordings with Lemon D, debuting at Fabric nightclub in London. The label subsequently toured across the UK and worldwide. Notable releases include Cybotron (2001), "Twist Em Out" featuring MC Skibadee, which reached number 35 on the UK Singles Chart in June 2003, and records such as "This Is A Warning" (2002) and Whirlwind / Snoot EP (2003). Dillinja continued to produce and release music through Valve Recordings, including collaborations with Lemon D on projects like Big Bad Bass (2002) and Spectrum (2004).
