Biography

Kim Young‑chul (김영철), born June 23 1974 in Ulsan, Republic of Korea, is a South Korean comedian and singer who began his career in comedy before transitioning to music. His first notable single, "Ring Ring" featuring Hong Jin‑young (2016), marked his entry into the pop scene, followed by collaborations with JeA on "An Ordinary Christmas"(2017) and Wheesung on "Andenayon"(2018). In 2019 he released "Signal Light" and continued to appear on popular variety shows such as JTBC’s Knowing Bros and Infinite Challenge, where his English pronunciation of “Cheer up, super power” became an internet meme. Kim released the single "What if I Say" on January 21 2025, expanding his discography while maintaining a presence in Korean television and radio.
