Formed in Hastings, England in 2013, Kid Kapichi marry the scuzzy underbelly of blues-drenched US alt-rock with the jack-the-lad energy of UK indie-rock and punk for an edifying guitar-powered sound. The band first came together when guitarists Jack Wilson and Ben Beetham began writing music and after getting their first song down ("Ice Cream"), the pair invited school friends Eddie Lewis (bassist) and George MacDonald ( drums) along for the ride. Kid Kapichi introduced themselves at several live gigs in Hastings and began turning in singles, including "Waster" (2017) and "Take it on the Chin" (2017) before their self-titled EP arrived in 2017. A string of releases popped up in the years that followed, from the Lucozade Dreams EP of 2018 to 2019's Sugar Tax EP, while the band continued to build on their reputation as an infectious live act with performances at Reading and Leeds festivals and a slot supporting Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes. Kid Kapichi's debut album This Time Next Year landed in 2021 and at the Heavy Music Awards 2022, they were nominated for Best UK Breakthrough Artist. In June 2022, the group signed to Spinefarm Records and unleashed their sophomore effort Here's What You Could Have Won in September 2022, which featured a guest contribution from Bob Vylan.
