Demob Happy, an English alternative rock band, was formed in 2008 in Newcastle upon Tyne by Matthew Marcantonio (vocals, bass), Thomas Armstrong (drums), Adam Godfrey and Mathew Renforth (guitars). They began touring locally before relocating to Brighton. Their debut EP You Shook the Soul was released digitally in May 2011, followed by the single "Rattlesnake" in February 2012. In November 2014, they issued their first physical release, the 7" single "Succubus", via Milk Parlour Records. Mathew Renforth left the band in mid-late 2016, and Demob Happy continued as a three-piece, releasing their second album Holy Doom on March 23, 2018. They supported Jack White on his UK tour for Boarding House Reach in October 2018. In April 2021, Matthew Marcantonio collaborated with Italian rapper Caparezza on the track "Canthology". Their third album Divine Machines was released in 2023 under Liberator Music. In February 2026, Demob Happy released their fourth full-length, The Grown-Ups Are Talking.
