Born in Creil (Oise) on January 30, 1992, French rapper Cédric Matéta Nkomiâknown as KeBlackâwho is of Congolese descent, rose to fame through videos he filmed on his cell phone and shared online. His songs, which have gone viral on social media, have been widely praised by internet users, who compare him to Maître Gims. In December 2014, his song âTout va bienâ racked up hundreds of thousands of views. Three months later, it was released as a single and entered the best-selling charts at No. 104. The rapper, signed to Universal, made headlines again during the 2016 UEFA European Championship when, in the midst of the tournament, French players Paul Pogba and Patrice Evra appeared in a video dancing to his track âJâai déconnéâ, which was once again propelled into the charts (No. 30). In January 2017, KeBlack released his debut album Premier Ãtage, featuring the tracks âPremier étageâ (No. 59), âBazardéeâ (No. 5), and âJâai déconnéâ. The following year, his second album, the double album Appartement 105 (No. 15 on the charts), featured numerous collaborations, including those with Sokhan, Coolax, Binguy, and Vianney, who appeared on the track âDernière chanceâ. In 2019, his new tracks â Ne m'en veux pasâ (No. 60) and âTchopâ (No. 51) preceded his third album, Contrôle (2020), which peaked at No. 16 and featured Dadju, Naza, Leto, Hatik, and Ninho. Other tracks followed, such as â Ma Playâ with Naza and Naps in 2021 and â 1, 2, 3 Soleilâ with Naza, which peaked at No. 16 in 2023. The following year, KeBlack scored new hits with â âAucune attacheâ (No. 10) and his first No. 1 hit, âBoucanâ with Franglishâtwo tracks featured on his fourth album, Focus (No. 9), which also includes other collaborations with Soolking, Naza, MHD, Fally Ipupa, and RSKO. In 2026, he teamed up with Franglish for a full-length album, Energy, which peaked at No. 16 and included the hit âHaut les mainsâ featuring IDS.
